Total Hip Replacement

xray of a successful Total Hip ReplacementTotal Hip Replacement is an effective procedure that reduces pain, increases function and increases quality of life.

The operation takes approximately 90 minutes to perform. It can be performed with general anaesthesia or regional anaesthesia (spinal or epidural).

There are many different types of hip replacement in common use today such as cemented or uncemented types with a variety of bearing surfaces such as metal, polyethylene and ceramics. Each particular type has its own advantages and disadvantages and these can be discussed in detail with Mr Seyi Idowu during your consultation. The choice of implant is made on several factors which can be discussed during your consultation.
